Did you know you can lease your land to Crown Forestry?Aa Back
As part of the Government’s One Billion Trees Programme, Crown Forestry is seeking land to plant. You can be involved by leasing your land for commercial forestry (this can be done by banding together with neighbours to form a viable block) or by partnering in a joint forestry venture. You retain ownership of your land but you share the crop.
Crown Forestry will cover all forestry establishment and management costs including rates and ongoing costs of crop protection.
Depending on what you decide, you’d receive payment by:
- annual land rentals (inflation indexed)
- a share of net revenue at time of harvest (“Stumpage share”)
- a mix of both
